SARASOTA, Fla. (SNN TV) – The annual Pineapple Drop is coming soon in downtown Sarasota.

It’ll be held at Lemon Avenue and Main Street. The Sarasota Police Department is asking those of you attending to leave backpacks, coolers, and alcohol at home.

Police are also warning against celebratory gunfire. Not only is it illegal to fire a weapon in the City of Sarasota, the gunshots that go up must come down, and the consequences can be tragic.
