SARASOTA, Fla. (SNN TV) – Prior to the New Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop on Main Street in Sarasota, we had a little pre-game sports talk.

Rod Miller, a former Riverview Rams standout running back and current trainer to the stars, co-hosted the 941 Sports Plug pre-game show today with Ed Kelly, Suncoast entrepreneur and owner of Results Fitness, Inc., at Raffurty’s on Main Street and what an NFL day they had to talk about, despite being adversaries(one a Niners fan, one a fan of America’s Team).

However, they most like to highlight the Suncoast stars.

Stars like Cardinal Mooney 2-time high school Player of the Year/ Gatorade Player of the Year and SNN Athlete of the Year, and Two-time defending National Champion Texas Longhorns volleyball Jordyn Byrd; IMG alumni Nation Champion lacrosse student-athlete Ryan Sforzo, grandson of celebrity Dic Vitale, Booker High alum and Central Michigan University standout Jaqueze Bristol, who declared for the 2024 NFL draft; former Sarasota HS and FSU quarterback, now QB Skills Coach, Sage Hansard HomeTeam 7v7 Program; and Lucy Trump, Notre Dame volleyball player.

All of the above are trained by Miller at AMP Athletics Institute

Even former Suncoast sports star-turned-author, and Junior Seau look-alike, Tony Gomes dropped by with his new book Life Integrated Financial Freedom.

Miller and Kelly want to bring sports-radio back in vogue to the 941 and the area is definitely filled with plenty of reasons to do so.
